WHAT IS SUNDAY SCHOOL?

It is the foundational strategy in a local church for:
1. Leading people to a saving faith in Christ
2. Growing Christians to maturity in that faith
3. Leading Christians to share that faith with others

HOW DOES SUNDAY SCHOOL WORK?

Through OPEN Bible study groups that engage people (all participating) in Evangelism (go and tell), Discipleship (teach), Fellowship (baptizing, sharing), Ministry (loving neighbor), and Worship (loving God). A Healthy Sunday School class/department accomplishes all five functions through an organization that involves people in serving Jesus Christ through one or more of these functions. Healthy classes produce spiritually mature Church leaders.

WHAT IS THE BASIS FOR SUNDAY SCHOOL?

Jesus said, “Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost; Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and lo I am with you always, even unto the end of the World.” Mat 28:19-20

Jesus said, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, soul, mind and strength, and thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” Mark 12:30-31
