Music is an extremely powerful medium through which to express our worship of God. Music and song have always been central to how God's people worship and praise their Creator. The Psalms of the Bible were the hymns of ancient Israel and, throughout out the history of the Church, God's people have used songs to proclaim his deeds and mercies to us. In fact in Colossians 3:15-17, we are told to joyfully sing to the Lord as we teach and admonish one another.

15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Open to all ages

The purpose of the Celebration Choir of First Baptist Church is to worship God through music and lead others to do the same. This dedicated group leads in worship each Sunday as well as hosting special presentations throughout the year. No auditions required - only a heart for worship, a love for singing, and a commitment to weekly rehearsal and worship services are the prerequisites. Rehearsals: Sunday evenings at 7:00 p.m.
